THE BEGINNING

Executive Virtual Assistance® is a privately-owned and operated administrative support service. It was founded by Kathy J. Berona in June, 2001. Kathy has been in practice for nearly 7 successful years. 

Prior to taking the leap into self-employment, Kathy served in various administrative roles for more than 14 years. From her first job in 1987 as a Receptionist to her last corporate position in 2001 as Office Manager at a large IT consulting firm, Kathy has developed a vast working knowledge of business office operations and an extraordinary knowledge of technology. Kathy often says assisting others is more than what she does, it's part of who she is. Kathy is passionate about being a positive contribution to the personal and professional life of each and every client.

Kathy is a Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) which is the highest level of accreditation in the administrative profession given by the International Association of Administrative Professionals. Thousands sit for this intensive 8-hour exam every year but only a small percentage passes. Kathy is also a 1999 graduate of AssistU, a virtual University located in Maryland training only the best Virtual Assistants and a 1987 graduate from the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center as an Administrative Office Specialist. Kathy performs at a Master level in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, FrontPage, Outlook and Access. In addition, Kathy has an advanced knowledge of many software programs both leading and proprietary programs ranging from bookkeeping, customer relationship management, real estate, ecommerce and more. Kathy’s years of experience as an administrative professional along with her technology know-how have significantly contributed to the success of Executive Virtual Assistance®.

CHANGE IS GOOD

In 2003 Kathy realized that in order to continue growing with each client she needed to expand her capacity to serve. She decided it was time to add only the best in administrative support to her resources. The first addition was Leah, Kathy’s first-born daughter. Leah specializes in bookkeeping with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Leah also holds certification in medical claims and billing. Leah performs at a Master level in English and at Expert level in MS Word & Excel. Leah is also skilled in HTML and web site maintenance. 

Over the years, Kathy has been very astute about adding independent contractors (IC) as needed. The rest of the team at present time consists of three talented and hard-working women named Katie, Melissa and Laura. Katie has been part of Kathy's team for more than 2 years. Katie assists Kathy with a variety of basic to intermediate administrative tasks. Melissa assists Kathy with a variety of basic to intermediate bookkeeping and administrative tasks. Melissa has been part of the team for over 6 months. Laura is brand new to the team and will be assisting Kathy with advanced bookkeeping. Laura has 20 years of experience and is certified in Bookkeeping, QuickBooks and Computerized Financial Accounting.  

KATHY’S BUSINESS MODEL

Kathy has designed a unique business model. Due to the awesome support team Kathy has, as her client’s needs grow she will be able to grow with them. This means Kathy's clients do not have to hire several VAs to receive a wide range of support. As such, Kathy is the office manager performing a wide range of tasks herself and managing the workload of her ICs. This business model ensures Executive Virtual Assistance® will always keep up with each client's needs.

What sets Kathy apart in this field is her ability to quickly learn each client's unique administrative needs based on their business and preferences. The quality of service each client receives is consistent and they don’t have to waste time on inexperienced, unskilled help. This personalized service with superior attention to detail ensures the highest standards in virtual assistance.  

CLIENT SELECTION

Kathy is very selective about the clients she chooses to work with. Only clients who want on-going, long-term assistance are considered. Kathy does not work with those who want only one or two tasks completed here and there or help on a one-time project. The rationale behind this client selection process is two-fold. First, Kathy believes in order to give you the highest level of support it is important she becomes your “right hand person.” She takes the time to know your business as well as you do and second, it is simple economics. The fewer clients using more hours enables Kathy to manage more with less which affords a lower billing rate to clients.
